Which server locations are available and when should each one be used?

In this article, you’ll learn what server settings are available and how you can have them adjusted.

Server options overview

When using Eye-Able products, you can choose from a variety of servers. These serve different technical and data protection requirements.

The available servers are:

  • SC1 – Scaleway, France
  • SC2 – Scaleway, France (with the option of a fixed IP address)
  • AZ1 – Microsoft Azure, Germany

Recommended default setting

We generally recommend the setting:
→ ALL
This is the recommended default setting, which is configured by Support. This option automatically uses the available server with the best performance and stability. This setting is perfectly adequate for most use cases.

SC2: Server settings for fixed IP addresses

The SC2 server setting should be used, if you need a fixed IP address.
This configuration is particularly suitable for:

  • Allowlisting in firewalls
  • Systems with IP-dependent security policies

Please contact our support team if you would like us to configure this server setting for you.

AZ1: Server settings for German IP addresses

The AZ1 server setting should be used, if you need a German IP address.

Select AZ1 if you need a German IP address.
This setting is important, for example, if:

  • Server access is only permitted from Germany
  • Certain data protection requirements (e.g. in public institutions) require this

Please contact our support team if you would like us to configure this server setting for you.
