Which server locations are available and when should each one be used?

Server options overview

When using Eye-Able® products, you can choose from a variety of servers. These serve different technical and data protection requirements.

The available servers are:

• SC1 – Scaleway, France
• SC2 – Scaleway, France (with the option of a fixed IP address)
• AZ1 – Microsoft Azure, Germany
  
  

Which server setting should be used by default?

We generally recommend the setting:
→ ALL
This option automatically uses the available server with the best performance and stability. This setting is perfectly adequate for most use cases.

When should you use SC2?

Use SC2 if you need a fixed IP address.
This configuration is particularly suitable for:

• Whitelisting in firewalls
• Systems with IP-dependent security policies

When should you use AZ1?

Select AZ1 if you need a German IP address.
This setting is important, for example, if:

• Server access is only permitted from Germany
• Certain data protection requirements (e.g. in public institutions) require this
