WCAG Coverage of the Eye-Able Testing Software
How Much Coverage of the WCAG Test Steps Does the Eye-Able Testing Software Provide?
This article explains what proportion of the WCAG test steps the Eye-Able testing software covers.
Automated Coverage of the Test Steps
Our audit software can cover roughly 60-70% of errors relating to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). The exact scope depends on the respective application.
This figure is achieved because most errors are concentrated in a few WCAG chapters, such as text contrasts or missing labels.
Combined with our guided tests or a manual test, however, 100% of the WCAG AA test steps can be checked.
Full WCAG coverage through fully automated tests alone is currently not possible.

What Does This Mean for the Website's Overall Score?
The score in Eye-Able Report only reflects the automated test steps, so a score of 100% does not yet mean the page is fully accessible. Manual tests are required to identify — and where necessary resolve — all possible barriers. You can find out more in our article "Overall Score Percentage in the Dashboard".
