Why is Eye-Able® Assist listed as a source of error for 9.4.1.1 Parsing?

Background

When using third-party testing software, Eye-Able® Assist may be listed as a source of error. The following message often appears:

Attribute ealangid not allowed on element a at this point

This refers to success criterion 4.1.1 Parsing.

WCAG Update

Success criterion 4.1.1 Parsing is no longer necessary in WCAG version 2.2 and will be removed in the future.

This means: Even if testing software reports this as an error, it is no longer a relevant criterion according to the current standard.

Impact

Setting the attributes mentioned does not cause any technical problems. The functionality of Eye-Able® Assist or your website is not affected.
