To optimize the user experience, Eye-Able exclusively stores technically necessary data in Local Storage and Session Storage. These are essential for the proper functioning of the software. This article outlines the key entries used by Eye-Able for the functionalities of Assist, Translate, and Plain Language. These details help to better understand the behavior and settings of the applications.


Assist:

Local Storage:

  • eyeAbleVariables:

    • Description: This entry stores the current settings of Assist.

    • Lifetime: Unlimited. This entry remains permanent until the browser data is manually deleted by the user.

  • eyeAbleHideIcon:

    • Description: Set when users actively hide the Assist icon.

    • Lifetime: Unlimited. This setting is stored permanently to ensure the icon remains hidden on future visits.

Session Storage:

  • eAIntro:

    • Description: Set when the initial tooltip is displayed to ensure that it is not shown repeatedly.

  • eyeAbleShow:

    • Description: Equivalent to eAIntro but used only during dynamic loading. It is exclusively used in dynamic reload processes.


Translate:

Local Storage:

  • eye_able_translate:

    • Description: Stores which language is being translated.

    • Lifetime: Until deactivated. The entry remains stored until the translation function is turned off by the user.
