Which Entries Are Stored by Eye-Able® Assist in LocalStorage and SessionStorage?
Local storage functions of Eye-Able® Assist
Eye-Able® Assist uses local storage functions of the browser – that is, LocalStorage and SessionStorage – to enable certain technical processes and improve the user experience. These entries serve exclusively for the operation and usability of the Assist toolbar.
LocalStorage entry: eyeAbleVariables
-
Is set as soon as the Assist toolbar is opened
-
Stores the settings made by the user locally in the browser
-
Ensures that personal Assist settings are automatically restored when navigating to another page or during a later visit
SessionStorage entry: eaIntro
-
Is created after the notice for using Eye-Able® Assist is shown for the first time
-
Ensures that the Assist tooltip is displayed only once per session
Storage duration of the entries
Both entries (LocalStorage and SessionStorage) remain saved until the browser cache is manually cleared.
This storage takes place exclusively in the browser and serves to make the use of Eye-Able® Assist as comfortable and personalized as possible – without server-side processing of the data.
