The cookie banner is visible and the background is dimmed in Eye-Able® Report screenshots — does this affect contrast testing?

Cookie Banner Visibility in Eye-Able® Report Screenshots

In the Eye-Able® Report, it may happen that the cookie banner is visible in the generated screenshots and the page background appears dimmed.

Important

This has no impact on contrast testing.

Why Does This Happen?

The automated analysis relies solely on the color values defined in the website’s source code.
The dimmed background shown in the screenshot does not change these values, and therefore does not distort the results of the contrast check.

Purpose of the Screenshots

Screenshots are used primarily as visual aids to help you identify and locate accessibility issues more easily.

Handling the Cookie Banner

It is entirely up to you how you choose to handle the cookie banner.
If necessary, it can be automatically hidden on all pages to prevent it from overlapping the screenshots in the report.
