Can pages protected with .htaccess also be scanned using the Eye-Able® Report?
Yes, pages protected with .htaccess can also be scanned using the Eye-Able® Report.
What are the available setup options?
There are two ways to configure access:
1. Providing .htaccess login credentials
The login credentials are stored during the creation of the license for the corresponding domain.
This allows the crawler to automatically authenticate when accessing the page and run the report.
2. Allowing the crawler’s IP addresses
Alternatively, the Eye-Able® crawler's IP addresses can be allowed in your server configuration.
The IP addresses that need to be whitelisted can be found in the following article:
Which IPs are used by the Report?
After setting up one of the two options, the license is created by technical support and the report will be initiated.
